The Kenton County Airport Board (“KCAB”) is soliciting proposals relating to Emergency Environmental & Hazardous Material Spill Response Services at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (“CVG”). The Clean Water Act prohibits discharge of polluting material into waters of the State which includes Elijah and Gunpowder Creeks and its tributaries. The CVG storm sewer system serves as a direct conduit to these waters and as such, any spill of fuel, oil, grease, deicing fluids, sewage, or other polluting materials beyond the facilities collection capacity that will affect water quality must be contained and removed. KCAB requires assistance in handling certain spills to ensure immediate and proper response to all spill events and other environmental emergencies. Consequently, KCAB intends to contract with an environmental remediation company on an as-needed, on-call basis to guarantee immediate response during a spill event or other environmental emergencies.
