In conjunction with Bill 569, passed in the Texas State Senate, 89th Legislative session, the Lewisville Independent School District ("LISD", "District") is seeking information from qualified and experienced vendors regarding full time virtual and/or hybrid learning solutions, platforms, services, and best practices to support the development and implementation and ongoing support of a comprehensive virtual learning program for students in grades K-12 offering both full-time virtual education and supplemental online courses that support personalized learning pathways. This learning opportunity shall help provide a flexible, engaging, and fully accredited online learning environment that aligns with state standards and requirements, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and that courses meet the National Standards for Quality Online Courses, and be compliant with Texas law, as well as meet the diverse needs of students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
The Texas State Senate Bill 569, passed in the 89th Legislative session, created the opportunity for virtual learning options so the District can serve more students. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued for planning and information purposes. The District will use the responses received to assess available technologies instructional models, and service options that could inform the future development of a comprehensive virtual learning program. The District intends to use this information obtained through this RFI to explore available options, identify best practices, and develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) at a later date.
