Solicitation Summary

The City of Gaithersburg (“City”) is seeking an experienced, qualified and licensed electrical contractor to provide all labor, equipment, tools and coordination necessary to replace lighting system at the Activity Center gymnasiums, located at 506 South Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

The existing metal halide (MH) lighting fixtures are approximately 25+ years old. About two years ago, City maintenance staff replaced the MH bulbs with LED bulbs, which resulted in illumination that failed to meet the program requirements. To address this issue and upgrade the lighting, the City hired an architectural firm to survey the existing conditions, design a new lighting system, and specify equipment to meet the program requirements for this space. Attached Exhibit A (Drawings and Specifications) provides a detailed scope of work.
