Sole source is proposed to Roche Diagnostics (Hoffmann-La Roche Limited) for the supply of two (2) Lightcycler 480 Instruments (Goods) on behalf of Agriculture and Irrigation (Purchaser).
These instruments are used to maintain current laboratory testing capacity, which detects diseases that may impact food safety, animal, and human health, as well as test for bacteria and viruses including Avian Influenza, African Swine Fever, and Foot-and-Mouth disease. The Goods are required to replace end-of-life instruments currently being used. The end-of-life instruments are no longer supported by the vendor and replacement parts are no longer made.
As part of the Canadian Animal Health Surveillance Network, the AFAS laboratory in Agriculture and Irrigation is certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to provide the testing, which is required to use this brand of instrumentation, which no other vendor is able to provide.
A Request for Quotes will be issued directly to Roche Diagnostics (Hoffmann-La Roche Limited) as they are the only vendor able to supply the Goods as required by the CFIA.
