Project Description: This Project consists of the following elements of Work: Abandon in-place existing watermains; install new ductile iron watermain pipe, including valving, fire hydrants, and other watermain appurtenances, ranging from 4 inch to 12 inch in diameter by open-trench method; install new 2 inch diameter copper water main pipe via trenchless moling; storm drainage improvements; assist SPU Water Operations with: cut, cap, blocking of existing watermains, temporary and permanent water main connections, and temporary and permanent water services connection transfers; installation of a pressure regulating station including discharge piping to a new air gap vault, and SCADA monitoring system at the NW 201 st St site; and final surface restoration of roadway and landscaping, including ADA curb ramp improvements.
This Project is a Covered Project subject to the City of Seattle’s Community Workforce Agreement (CWA) and Priority Hire SMC 20.37. With the support of the mayor and City Council, the City of Seattle administers programs that support racial and economic equity through contracting. Priority Hire is one of these programs. Priority Hire provides people living in economically distressed communities, women, and people of color access to work on the city’s construction projects. It gives contractors access to these skilled workers.

Project Location: This Project is located at 3 different sites in the City of Seattle and 2 different sites in the City of Shoreline: 1) NW 201 st St & 18 th Ave NW (Shoreline); 2) 24 th Ave NW from NW 196 th St to NW 197 th St (Shoreline); 3) Woodlawn Ave N from N 63 rd St to N 65 th St and Meridian Ave N from N 62 nd St to Woodlawn Ave N (Seattle); 4) 8 th Ave NE from NE 55 th St to NE 60 th St (Seattle); and 5) Roosevelt Way NE & NE 55 th St (Seattle).
