Description

The Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) seeks proposals from qualified consultants to develop a comprehensive Equity, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility Strategy Plan. This plan will provide actionable recommendations to guide the Municipality, Staff, Council, and community committees in fostering accessibility, eliminating racism and discrimination, and building an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents. CBRM is committed to addressing systemic inequities and fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable community. This initiative aligns with provincial mandates, including the Accessibility Act, which ensures barrier-free access for all individuals, and the Dismantling Racism and Hate Act, which aims to prevent and respond to hate, racism, and discrimination through coordinated, systemic approaches and actionable strategies. It also reflects the principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action for advancing efforts toward reconciliation and equity in Nova Scotia.
