City of E ingham

EV Charging Facility Project

All holders of the plans and speciﬁcations for the City of E ingham “EV Charging Facility

Project” shall take into account that this Addendum #1 revises and amends the original

plans and speciﬁcations. The information in the answers provided below will take full force

and will hold over the plans and speciﬁcations.

Any bidder shall sign this addendum and include it with their bid as an

acknowledgement receipt. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualiﬁcation. Please

place this at the top of the bid packet.

The information below consists mostly of clariﬁcations or very nuanced changes. To draw

attention to the larger changes, they have been highlighted green. Less substantial changes

are highlighted gray.

Q: Is only the electrical contractor required to be ICC certiﬁed, not for the site and

concrete work?

A: That is correct. Just the electrical contractor is expected to have the ICC

certiﬁcation for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

Q: Does the electrical contractor need to be the prime contractor?

A: No. The site contractor or the electrical contractor can be the prime.

Q: Sheet 3 of the plans stating that (3) 125 amp 3 pole breakers are required. Is that

correct.

A: This is a typographical error and should state that 2 are required.

Q: Since Chargepoint is furnishing and installing the charger equipment under contract

with with the City, when would the Contractor have to be EV certiﬁed and go through

Chargepoint training?

A: EV certiﬁcation is a separate thing from Chargepoint training. Ameren requires the

ICC Certiﬁcation for EV work which must be done prior to the award of the contract.

The Chargepoint training should be completed prior to installation of their

equipment but is not required prior to award of a contract.

Q: Is there a speciﬁc color we are to use on the striping and EV Charging Logo?

A: White

Q: Is there a speciﬁc logo you require for the EV Charging parking stall?

A: Any markings that indicate EV Parking are expected to be acceptable. Contractor to

submit for approval.

This question brought to the City’s attention that signage is appropriate for the

charger. This addendum also adds the requirement to mount the following sign to

the southernmost bollard. The sign shall have the MUTCD designation of R7-111 and

be 12”x18”.

Q: Is vapor barrier required under the slab or other concrete?

A: No.

Q: Is there a speciﬁc diameter of bollard you are requiring to be placed in front of the

charger?

A: 6”

Q: Are we to supply the parking block in the one slot? Only the one or do you want one

in the future slot as well?

A: There are no parking blocks for this project. It was inadvertently left on one of the

plan sheets.

Q: Are we requiring project fencing around this during construction?

A: No.

Q: Do we have a detail or spec on the subbase under the slab, sidewalk and

foundations?

A: The initial plans and speciﬁcations did not require Aggregate Subbase. With this

addendum we are adding the requirement of 4” of compacted crushed aggregate

meeting the IDOT CA6 gradation. This applies to pavement, sidewalk, and concrete

foundation.
