NOTICE OF SINGLE SOURCE TO THE PUBLIC
Shelby County Government has identified a single source purchase for the goods/services as
listed below. This notice is not a request for bid, proposal, or qualifications.
Single Source – 25 -PASSENGER TRANSPORT BUS
The identified vendor will:
1. Provide a 25-passenger transport bus (plus driver) designed for the safe and secure
movement of sequestered juries.
2. Be built on a heavy-duty chassis suitable for commercial transport operations, with
sufficient powertrain capacity to support full passenger loads and extended daily use.
3. Include interior configuration appropriate for court transport operations, including
fixed passenger seating, center aisle access, and adequate headroom and spacing for safe
ingress and egress.
4. Be equipped with safety features, including but not limited to emergency exits, interior
and exterior lighting, backup camera system, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and required
safety signage.
5. Include environmental controls, such as a dual air conditioning system capable of
maintaining passenger comfort during transport operations.
6. Provide durable interior materials and flooring suitable for high-frequency use,
including slip-resistant flooring and vandal-resistant components.
7. Include driver visibility and operational safety features, including mirrors, camera
systems, and ergonomic driver controls.
8. Provide warranty coverage and local service support, including access to parts and
maintenance services to minimize operational downtime.
Procurement Timing/Deadlines:
• The vehicle shall be delivered within a reasonable timeframe from issuance of purchase
order, not to exceed 180 dAYS
• All equipment, installation, and delivery requirements must be completed prior to final
acceptance by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

In accordance with Shelby County’s Purchasing policy, notice of single source will be posted on
the County’s website for seven (7) days prior to award.
Notice expires on May 14, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.
