Summary

The Scranton School District will be conductin the renovation of an existing 35,000 SF facility into the Monticello Primary Center. The purpose of this bid is to acquire the food service equipment specified on the documents incorporated into this bid for a full production kitchen at the building. It is the intent to award this bid line by line, to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder meeting each bid specification.



Background

The vision of the Scranton School District is to educate students to their full potential and to prepare them to be successful in all aspects of their lives.

The Scranton School District is a public school district located in Northeastern Pennsylvania that was founded in 1877. We have an enrollment of approximately 9,300 students. The Scranton School District consists of two Senior High Schools, three Intermediate Schools, a STEMM Academy, a Cyber Academy, a center based program for Special Education Students and ten Elementary Schools. The Scranton School District is also home to a state of the art sports complex.

As noted in the summary the Scranton School District recently acquired a new site for the future expansion of our center based program currenlty named the Monticello Primary Center.

The Scranton School District participates in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and the Summer Food Service Program. On average the Scranton School Districts prepares and service over 13,000 meals daily free of charge to our students under the Community Eligibility Program.

The equipment is this bid will be used to furnish the new full service kitchen at the Monticello Primary Center to support the current district meal program.
