NACHC Leadership Exchange for CIO Mentor Application
The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is seeking experienced
health center executives to serve as mentors for the NACHC Leadership Exchange for
Chief Information Officers (NLE CIO).
The NLE CIO is a six-month, cohort-based professional development program designed to
strengthen the leadership and technical skills of health center CIOs. Mentors are assigned
a group of 6-10 participants to discuss current challenges, answer questions, and help
participants plan a real-world capstone project. Mentors serve as trusted advisors,
providing guidance, support, and encouragement to help their peers grow in their career
and leadership journey.
Mentor Activities:
* Participate in a one-hour mentor orientation virtually.
* Travel to attend two in-person program events (three total days of programming).
* Lead 6 monthly, 1.5-hour virtual meetings with a group of 6-10 participants to
answer questions and help participants plan their capstone project.
* Communicate with participants on message boards or email on an ad hoc basis.
Estimated Time Commitment:
The estimated commitment is approximately 35 hours over six months, plus any travel
time.

Compensation:
NACHC will provide a professional services fee and reimburse travel in alignment with its
policies.
Mentor Eligibility Requirements:
* NLE mentors must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as Chief Information
Officer or equivalent role leading IT strategy at a health center (FQHC or Look-Alike).
Over 5 years will be given preference.
If not currently a CIO or equivalent at a health center, it has been no more
than 3 years since the mentor served at a health center.
* NLE mentors must have the support of their current or most recent health center
supervisor to serve in the program.

In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements above, mentors will be assessed on the
following:
* Meeting the eligibility requirement stated above.
* Demonstrated thoughtfulness in approach to mentorship.
* Experience in shaping organizational IT strategy.
