Description
Transport Canada (TC) is migrating Statistical Analysis System (SAS) version 9.4 Extract transform and load (ETL) data analytics scripts to Azure Databricks, from the planning stage through to the implementation stage.
Background
Transport Canada (TC) has a modern enterprise ecosystem supporting a data-driven and evidence-based decision-making organization. Enterprise Business Intelligence & Data Analytics (eBIDA) is a key product underpinning TC’s Data Strategy, empowering people with data and analytics capabilities to drive value with the work they do.
1. Provided users with additional visualization tools to accelerate horizontal reporting, data sharing, and data stewardship.
2. Introduced technologies facilitating analysis of new types of data (big data: large volume, streams, multiple formats) to further improve planning, policy development, and risk-based decision making.
3. Modernized TC’s enterprise Data Lake to expedite collection of data from program areas and eliminate data silos and duplication.
4. Enabled users to quickly find the data they need with the introduction of a new data catalogue and enhanced searching capabilities.
5. Empowered users with new collaboration tools and analytics capabilities to accelerate data science (geospatial, descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics).
Scope of Services
The purpose of the contract is to Consolidate data analytics platforms into the eBIDA ecosystem exercise included Tableau and SAS Suite. This Statement of Work is specific to on-premises SAS Suite migration to eBIDA Cloud Azure platform using Databricks for Civil Aviation, Road Safety, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Transportation of Hydrogen business clients within transport Canada department
Security Clearance
The Resources converting SAS scripts must have a valid Reliability security clearance for the duration of the contract.
3.Contract Duration: TC intends to award up to one year plus one (1) one- year irrevocable option.
4. Incumbent: The work is currently not being performed by a contracted resource or Vendor.
The estimated contract period will be 12 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/12/16.
