Summary

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals to provide professional development, training, and technical assistance that increase access, consultation, education, and evidence-based interventions for young children from birth through age five with developmental delays, disabilities, and/or learning needs.

DCY created and oversees multiple initiatives to support professionals who serve children with delays and disabilities and their families. These initiatives include Ohio PROMISE. Ohio PROMISE operates through several coordinated components, including the EC-CoE, which provides training, resources, and consultation through regionally based specialists and online resources for families and professionals. The initiative also includes the Ohio PROMISE Program Designation and the Professional Early Childhood Credential, a free on-demand learning series that strengthens the awareness and competence of early care and education professionals serving children with special needs.
Ohio PROMISE also assists connecting families with state-funded financial assistance.  Families who have a child with a disability may apply with their childcare provider for enhanced payments to address the child’s needs. The initiative is guided by the Ohio PROMISE Advisory Council, which meets monthly to advise state partners on program planning and implementation.

In addition, DCY provides professional development, training, and technical assistance to expand access to evidence-based interventions and support early identification of autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities for children from birth through age five.
