The Division of Information Technology of Virginia Tech seeks to deploy a generative AI platform for use by all eligible faculty, students, and staff. We plan to leverage our existing business relationship with Microsoft and the current infrastructure investment in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to create a generative AI platform with access to private instances of frontier large language models (LLMs), such as those produced by OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
