1. PRIOR TO DISCONNECTING OR DISASSEMBLING ANY AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT,
MEASURE AND RECORD THE STATIC PRESSURE PRODUCED IN THE SUPPLY, RETURN,
AND EXHAUST DUCT MAINS FOR EACH SYSTEM WITH THE SYSTEM FAN OPERATING AT
FULL SPEED. THESE READINGS ARE TO BE USED AS A REFERENCE FOR ADJUSTING
NEW EQUIPMENT AIRFLOWS. FOR VAV SYSTEMS, MAKE READINGS WITH ALL VAV BOXES
COMMANDED OPEN.
2. AFTER DISCONNECTING ALL UTILITIES, REMOVE UNIT FROM CURB.
3. REMOVE EXISTING GASKET MATERIAL AND DUCT TRANSITIONS AND FLEX CONNECTORS
AND PREPARE FOR NEW TRANSITION WITH FLEX CONNECTOR.
4. REMOVE EXISTING COUNTER-FLASHING SKIRT ON EXISTING VIBRATION PORTION OF
CURB BY REMOVING ALL SCREWS AND TERMINATION BAR SECURING SKIRT TO BACK
FACE OF COUNTER-FLASHING FLANGE.
5. REMOVE VIBRATION ISOLATED PORTION OF THE EXISTING CURB INCLUDING THE
FLOATING TOP RAIL AND THE SUPPORT SPRINGS AND SPRING HOUSINGS INTEGRAL
WITH THE BASE OF THE CURB.
6. CUT ROOF AS REQUIRED AND REMOVE NAILER FROM CURB.
7. GRIND TOP SURFACES SMOOTH WHERE SPRING HOUSINGS ARE REMOVED.
8. PREPARE CURB FOR INSTALLATION OF NEW 8" HEIGHT EXTENSION OF EXISTING CURB,
WITH ADAPTER TO TRANSITION DIMENSIONS AS REQUIRED TO SUIT NEW UNIT. INCLUDE
A NEW 2x4 TREATED WOOD NAILER AT AN ELEVATION OF ~12" ABOVE THE EXISTING
ROOF SURFACE. SECURE CURB EXTENSION TO BASE CURB WITH SELF TAPPING
SCREWS 24" ON CENTER AND WITHIN 6" OF CORNERS.
DEMO ROOF CURB VIBRATION ISOLATION RAIL,
