NOTICE REQUEST FOR PROFESSIONAL LEGAL SERVICES The City of Maumelle is requesting Statements of Qualifications from law firms to provide legal services to represent the city and its police and fire chiefs in civil service commission appeals pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14-51-205(b) (“The city shall hire on an annual basis independent legal counsel to represent the city and the department head when the city’s managerial employment decisions are brought for review before the commission and in all trials, proceedings, or other legal transactions before the commission.”). All Statements of Qualifications received will be kept on file for a period of one (1) year to be used as a reference in the procurement of said services. Two (2) copies of your Statement of Qualifications must be received by the City of Maumelle, 550 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle, AR 72113 (Attn: Tina Timmons, City Clerk/Treasurer), no later than January 30, 2026. Email submissions will not be accepted. Statements of Qualifications shall include at minimum: the names of lawyer(s) who seek to be hired; their hourly rate; their experience in civil litigation and trial practice; their experience representing employers generally and police chiefs and fire chiefs in particular; and client references who can speak to the quality of their work (including the client’s case name, case number, and court/tribunal, if the client’s matter was litigated).
