The purpose of this Request for Information (âRFIâ) is to obtain information from firms or persons in the solid waste management industry who may wish to enter into a long-term franchise (in excess of five years) with the Town of Bedford (the âTownâ) to lease and operate its Town Transfer Station. This RFI will not directly result in a contract; however, the information gathered will inform the Townâs preparation and advertisement of a formal franchise solicitation. As required by the Code of Virginia, after reviewing the responses to this RFI, the Town will likely issue a public notice advertising the franchise and may proceed with a long-term lease and operations agreement.
