The Lincoln County Highway Department requests sealed bids for 35,000 tons (more or less) of Crushed Surface Gravel within 10 miles of Canton.

Sealed bids are due to the Lincoln County Highway Shop by Wednesday, April 8th at 2:00pm. Bids will be officially opened and read to the public at 2:15pm. Bids not received by the deadline will not be opened and returned to the bidder.

Lincoln County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and make award(s) as deemed to be in the best interest of the county.

• ¾ inch (19.0mm): 100%

• #4 (4.75mm): 50–78%

• #8 (2.36mm): 37–67%

• #40 (425μm): 13–35%

• #200 (75μm): 4.0–15.0%

Other Properties:

• Plasticity Index: 4-12

• LA Abrasion Loss (maximum): 40

• Crushed Particles (minimum) #4 Sieve: 30% 1-CF

A belt sample will be taken and tested at 2,500 ton and each 5,000 ton thereafter at the expense of the contractor. Lincoln County has the right to sample and test at any point during crushing.

The bid includes all shipping and handling charges, and any other applicable taxes or fees. The bid is guaranteed for the contract year. Lincoln County reserves the right to purchase none, more, or less than the estimated quantities at no additional change to cost.
