The University of Nebraska intends to procure a qualified Architect / Engineer (A/E) to provide planning, routing, design, survey, interface with local city and utility interests, permitting assistance, and construction administration services for the UNMC Project Health Campus Utilities. The estimated construction cost under a Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) is $44,500,000. The total estimated construction budget including the GMP, in-house construction services, and the Owner’s contingency is $50,000,000.

The proposed project is to construct new campus utility extensions in preparation for both future Heating Hot Water expansion and Project Health.  Work is likely to include:
  • New Campus Heating Hot Water Loop.
  • Emergency and Normal Power extensions to the project site.
  • Chilled water extensions to the project site.
  • Bulk Oxygen extensions to the project site.
All work will require extensive planning and coordination with existing public and private utilities, work within City Right of Way, and UNMC Utilities amongst others. Portions of the work will likely occur within the project boundaries of Project Health. Design and construction activities will require coordination with the Design and Construction team for that project. It is imperative that all work be planned and coordinated such that the campus can always maintain its business and utility operations.
Please refer to the RFQ documents for additional information.
