Follow up from initial RFI request (PAO Chiller System (Notice ID: 14816), provide capabilities for the following? The full SOW is also attached for reference.






  • Provide and install all material to construct overflow basin for PAO chillers and pumps.






  • Mechanical Room to House PAO Chillers

    • 5.3.1 The Contractor shall construct a dedicated, sound-attenuated room at the designated





location to house the PAO chillers. The room shall meet the following specifications:






    • 5.3.2 Walls: Construct walls using 6-inch, 16-gauge metal studs with 5/8-inch drywall on both





sides. Install R-21 insulation within the framing. Extend walls from the true floor to the



underside of the metal deck above, effectively creating a full-height barrier.






    • 5.3.3 Sound Attenuation: The complete room assembly (walls and doors) must achieve a Sound





Transmission Class (STC) rating of 45.






    • 5.3.4 Doors: Install doors with a minimum STC rating of 45. Provide at least one door of sufficient





size to facilitate the passage of the PAO chillers during installation and maintenance.






    • 5.3.5 Finishes: Paint the walls to match the existing laboratory aesthetic.

    • 5.3.6 Floor and Ceiling Integration: The Contractor shall modify the existing raised access floor and





grid ceiling as necessary to accommodate the new wall placement and chiller skid, ensuring a



seamless and integrated appearance. This modification shall not be done until the



mechanical room is in place and the Chiller skids arrive.






  • Chiller Support and Containment

    • 5.4.1 The chiller room shall house the support and isolation stand(s) for the PAO chillers.

    • 5.4.2 Each stand shall include a containment pan to meet the contract requirements, unless the





chiller units have integrated containment features.






    • 5.4.3 The new mechanical room layout must accommodate the Pall Filter unit.

    • 5.4.4 The height of the support stands shall match the existing raised access floor height.

    • 5.4.5 In-fill the area around the stands with raised access floor panels to maintain a consistent





floor surface.






  • Paint/Finish

    • 5.6.1 Any damage to paint must be repaired using 1 coat primer and 2 coats paint and shall match





existing paint.






  • Plumbing

    • 5.8.1 Contractor shall direct the overflow drain line to an overflow drain catch. This overflow drain





catch must be separate from the spill catch system.






    • 5.8.2 If the allocated space is not sufficiently sized for the PAO chiller system, the Contractor shall





propose an alternate solution before contract is awarded.
