Notice is given that the County of Sierra is accepting informal quotes for the following project.
Brandy City Road Located West of Downieville, CA

Request for Quotes to remain open until awarded.
Federal funding from FEMA has been allocated to Sierra County to support repairs on a section of County Road 490 (Brandy City Road) damaged during the 2023 storm. Before construction can begin, select trees and vegetation within the designated repair zone must be removed to ensure safe and effective restoration of the damaged road. Work to be Completed: With this Request for Quotes ("RFQ"), the COUNTY of SIERRA ("COUNTY") seeks experienced and qualified firm(s) or team(s) of firms to provide all necessary equipment, materials, and labor to remove trees and vegetation as identified in Exhibit A. Trees and vegetation not listed in Exhibit A shall remain undisturbed. Trees meeting the criteria for “marketable timber” shall be stockpiled at the designated location. All non-marketable trees, branches, and woody debris shall be masticated and properly disposed of. Trees adjacent to the proposed construction area shall be protected throughout the duration of construction. All work must be completed within ten (10) working days from the date of commencement.
Contractors are encouraged to inspect the site of the work in order to satisfy themselves, by personal examination or by such other means as they may prefer; of the location of the proposed work; and as to the actual conditions of; and at the site of work. If, during the course of the examination Contractor finds facts or conditions which appear confusing to Contractor, Contractor shall apply to County for additional information and explanation before submitting the quote. However, no such supplemental information so requested or furnished shall vary the terms of the specifications or the Contractor's sole responsibility to satisfy himself or herself as to the conditions of the work to be performed.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS: The following requirements apply to all contractors for all public works projects in Sierra County. 1.) All contractors must have a current, valid California contractor’s license in the trade(s) for which the company is qualified, under the name for which the proposal is submitted. 2.) Be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. See the

, if the quote is more than $25,000. This requirement also applies to all subcontractors doing work on this project. 3.) Provide your DIR registration number if required. 4.) If the project is awarded, all work will require the payment of prevailing wages.
