Summary
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to obtain Proposals from qualified contractors interested in partnering with COM
by providing our State Fire Marshal (SFM) Division with a web-based .Net LIMS system that has comparable functionality found in our current Client/Server LIMS system. This RFP is requesting both ongoing maintenance and support, as well as additional development and enhancements to increase the functionality of the system, and to improve the user interface for internal and external users.

The Ohio Department of Commerce (COM) is the State’s chief regulatory agency with a focus on consumer protection. Our State Fire Mashal (SFM) Division’s mission is to safeguard the public, its property and the environment from fire and related risks through education, investigation and enforcement. SFM’s Forensic Lab Bureau currently utilizes a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) system, which is the forensic evidence tracking system used by the investigators.
