NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed Bids shall be received from qualified Bidders on PennBid and at the office of the Engineer, Peters Consultants, Inc., 2701 Columbia Boulevard, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 for the “Downtown Streets Reconstruction –Liberty Street and Water Street” and all appurtenant Work, in strict accordance with the Contract Documents on file at the office of the Engineer, Peters Consultants, Inc., 2701 Columbia Boulevard, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
DATE OF OPENING BIDS: Bids shall be received by the City of Shamokin online via PennBid or hardcopies at the office of the Engineer, Peters Consultants, Inc. until 11:00 A.M. local time on August 11, 2025 at which time they will be publicly opened. Hardcopies of the bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked on the outside "Sealed Bid for Downtown Streets Reconstruction –Liberty Street and Water Street”. Bids will be reviewed at the City of Shamokin Council Meeting that evening at 6:00 P.M. contingent upon Seda-COG’s approval of the bid for compliance with CDBG funding regulations. Bid results will be available online at http://PennBid.Bonfirehub.com.
LOCATION OF THE WORK: The Work to be constructed hereunder is located on North Liberty Street between East Independence Street and East Water Street and East Water Street between 9th Street and North Liberty Street.
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: The Work comprises milling of the roadway, tack coat, installation of Superpave HMA 9.5mm scratch coat and Superpave HMA 9.5mm overlay, 2% crown on center, adjust manholes, if required, seal all joints, full depth restoration areas will be determined after milling, which will include excavation, 2A Subbase and Superpave HMA 25mm and all appurtenances for a complete job in accordance with these Contract Documents. The City of Shamokin will provide adjustment rings for the manholes. Each individual utility will be responsible for adjusting any valve boxes.
There shall be no pre-bid walk through of the Project Site. Contractor to verify the section of Liberty Street and Water Street located in the City of Shamokin to be milled and paved.
