Title: Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP)
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 8/6/2025
Due Date: 9/3/2025
Pierce County Human Services (PCHS) is seeking applications from agencies interested in providing critical services that support youth (ages 24 and under) experiencing homelessness, with a focus on helping them access and maintain stable housing.
Funding is available through the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) and will be administered in alignment with all applicable U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements.
Eligible organizations may apply to operate one or more of the following project types:
In November 2024, PCHS was awarded $3.5 million through the HUD YHDP. Pierce County was one of only 14 communities nationwide selected in Round 8 of this competitive program.
The purpose of YHDP is to reduce and ultimately end homelessness among youth and young adults (YYA) up to age 24. The program supports the development and implementation of a coordinated, youth-driven community response to youth homelessness, with a strong focus on collaboration, equity, and continuous quality improvement.
As part of the YHDP process, Pierce County has developed a Coordinated Community Plan (CCP) to end youth homelessness. This plan reflects input from a wide range of partners, including youth service providers, government agencies, the Greater Pierce County Continuum of Care (CoC), and the Pierce County Youth Action Board (YAB) - a group of young people with lived experience of homelessness who have been deeply involved in shaping the plan and will help select projects for funding.
