NCATS Toxicology in the 21st Century (Tox 21) is tasked with identifying the toxic effects of compounds destined for human exposure from environmental, industrial and pharmaceutical sources. The Tox-Gen group resides within Tox 21, and is pursuing the identification of novel methods to probe these toxicity events in model human cellular systems in an expedited manner that is also cost effective without the use of animal models. In pursuit of this goal, the Tox-Gen has a number of scientists that are discovering and developing these methods to better understand the mechanisms of human toxicity. FGL develops and improves functional genomics screening approaches to better understand gene function and identify biologically relevant targets.
The iBright FL1500 is an imaging system that captures and analyzes data from colorimetric, fluorescent, and chemiluminescent protein gels and blots. This instrument is heavily utilized and requires the regular cleaning and alignment of optical systems, which is only possible through preventative maintenance from a service agreement. The QuantStudio real-time PCR systems are used to evaluate changes in cellular gene expression, which is essential to both functional genomics and to understand mechanisms of toxicity. These instruments are designed to be robust, however, due to the amount of use of the instruments, it is prudent that a service agreement is obtained to prevent downtime in case of instrument failure. A service agreement is requested to cover any repair and upgrades for the instruments in a timely manner. This service contract will also cover a preventive maintenance to further protect this investment.
Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities, not otherwise provided by the Government as needed to perform the Statement of Work below:
