Summary
The City of Newport News (the “City”) is seeking bids from qualified firms (the “Bidder” or “Contractor”) to furnish the goods and/or services described herein and bids will be received via the City’s e-Procurement Portal, OpenGov Procurement ( https://secure.procurenow.com/portal/nnva ), to be received no later than Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 3:00 pm (local prevailing time).
The purpose of this Request for Quotes (RFQ) is to solicit quotes to furnish/provide, install, configure, calibrate, and test three (3) replacement submersible level transducers at the City’s closed landfill.
Background
The City operates environmental monitoring systems at its closed landfill as part of ongoing post-closure care. Three existing submersible level transducers have reached the end of their useful service life or are no longer providing reliable measurements. The instruments are used to measure liquid level and transmit a continuous 4–20 mA signal to the existing monitoring equipment. Replacement is needed to restore reliable level data used for landfill monitoring, operational decisions, and regulatory documentation
