Polk County Government is accepting sealed bids from experienced & qualified contractors for
providing all labor, equipment, & materials required for the electrical portion of the Van Wert
Fire Station project specified below. A contract will be awarded to the contractor whose bid best
satisfies the requirements for this request and best serves the interest of Polk County. Sealed bids
will be accepted until 10:00AM EST on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in the Commissioners Office
located at 216 Main Street in Cedartown, GA 30125.
Polk County Government reserves the right to a) reject any or all proposals or to make no award, b)
require modifications to initial proposals, or c) to make partial or multiple awards. The County
further reserves the right to excuse technical defects in a proposal and/or informalities when, in its
sole discretion, such excuse is in the best interest of the County.
Bids may be withdrawn by written request only, if the request is received prior to the deadline for
submittals. Negligence on the part of a Contractor during the preparation of a proposal establishes
no right of withdrawal or modification of a proposal after a proposal has been accepted. No
proposal may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the deadline for proposal submittals.

Background
An approximate 4,600 square foot fire station (3 bays/living quarters) is currently being constructed
on property near Van Wert Elementary School. This will be a metal building with brick facades on all
four sides. A 2 hour fire separation wall will be between the fire bays and living quarters.
The contractor is expected to provide material and labor for the electrical portion of the project.
However, ceiling fans, island lights, and vanity lights will be provided by the County. Drawings have
been attached to this document.

Scope of Work to Be Performed By Electrical Contractor
* Furnish the temporary power pole
* Provide power setup for (2) 200-amp parallel (2023 NEC)
* Provide & install wiring for fire bays & living quarters
* Place all receptacles in locations by code & requested by the County
* Provide & install wiring for 3 garage doors in the fire bays
* Provide & install wiring for exterior flood lights
* Provide & install (6) bay lights overhead
* Provide & install (3) drop down plugs in fire bays
* Provide 220V power setup for turnout gear extractor
* Provide & install wiring for (2) gas heaters

All bids submitted shall be subject to acceptance or rejection and Polk County specifically reserves
the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities and formalities in the bidding.
