Office on Homeless Services Request for Proposals (RFP) for Mercer County Code Red Heat Emergency Pilot Program 2025
The Mercer County Department of Human Services, Office on Homeless Services, is accepting proposals for the Mercer County Code Red Heat Emergency Pilot Program, to assist individuals experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness during heating emergencies, in the amount of $20,000.00, utilizing Mercer County Funds, for the period of June 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
The County of Mercer is seeking a licensed emergency shelter services provider for single, adult men and women county residents experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in response to extreme heat conditions during Code Red activation. The Office of Homeless Services is looking for a facility that will provide basic life-sustaining services (such as food, shelter and clothing) to this population during Code Red activation following heating emergencies as issued by Mercer County. This pilot funding aims to formalize Mercer County’s protocol during heat emergencies by supporting agencies that provide services to protect individuals from extreme heating conditions.
