This agreement covers 100% Test and Certification of the fire alarm system and the sprinkler system. Tests will be completed in accordance with CAN/ULC S536 as required by the National Fire Code of Canada 2005 in section 6.3.1.2. This will include Ground Fault and Supervision testing on all devices excluding smoke detector sensitivity testing.

The Contractor must:

a.

Complete all annual and semi-annual services as so described in the Statement of Work Annex A. Ensuring that all necessary inspection tags are to be affixed to the units tested to reflect current year of testing.

*Note: that item 11. of the statement of work “Five Year Test and Inspections” must be fully completed in Year One of the contract.

b.

c.

Any repairs required due to deficiencies being identified during the annual inspection will require a quote/pricing as additional work outside of the annual inspection will be paid out to the contractor on a per hour diem. Pricing should not affect the report, but we do not want the deficiency report to include any pricing, and we do not want the report to be delayed because the contractor is also providing quotes/pricing. If everyone is in agreement, I think that we could probably remove the highlighted line below.

d. All reports must reference the CSC real property line drawings building index identifiers (provided after contract award) as well as reference by number (4.1, 4.2, …. 4.11) which aspect of the Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems was completed/addressed during the inspection for file naming, allowing institutional staff to locate and separate each individual sub-report from the main electronic report file easily, quickly, and logically. Aspects of the Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems and their respective numbering can be found under the Tasks section of the Statement of Work.

e. The testing and inspection must be 100% complete with a report and inspection certification provided to Saskatchewan Penitentiary no later than 8 weeks following the inspections.
