The Riverlink project is part of the “Hartline” project, which is envisioned as a an approximately 5-mile linear park and pedestrian path/bikeway generally along the Griffin Line rail corridor, extending from Hartford’s riverfront area to Bloomfield, Connecticut. The intention of the Hartline is to reconnect multiple neighborhoods to each other and to the Connecticut riverfront, foster economic development, enhance recreational opportunities, and promote active transportation options for a diversity of users, as part of an expanding regional network of bike and pedestrian paths.
