BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The City of Trenton routinely encounters residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use structures
that have been determined to be unsafe, imminently hazardous, partially collapsed, fire damaged, or
otherwise structurally compromised.
In many cases, demolition is not immediately warranted or feasible. Temporary stabilization measures
are necessary to protect the public while permanent repairs, rehabilitation, or demolition are evaluated.
Accordingly, the City seeks to establish a list of qualified contractors capable of responding quickly to
emergency stabilization assignments.
The city intends to award prequalified status to multiple contractors. Individual assignments will be
issued through written Requests for Quotations to the prequalified contractors on an as-needed basis.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to identify contractors possessing the experience,
personnel, equipment, licensing, permits and financial capability necessary to perform emergency
stabilization work on unsafe and imminently hazardous structures.
The selected contractors shall be capable of responding rapidly to emergency conditions and
implementing temporary stabilization measures that protect life, property, and the public.
Furthermore, selected contractors are expected to issue the lowest and most responsible quote and,
where applicable, acquire and redevelop the property in accordance with the City's redevelopment
objectives.
