Project Description: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Downingtown Borough for:
Downingtown Borough Capital Projects
In accordance with Drawings and Project Manuals, together with all work incidental thereto as prepared by KRUG ARCHITECTS. 1. Downingtown Borough Police fit out of 126 Wallace Avenue, dated 1/28/25. 2. Downingtown Public Works Addition and Renovation of 260 Norwood Ave, dated 1/28/25. 3. Downingtown Borough Hall and Annex Addition and Alteration at 4 W Lancaster Avenue, dated 2/14/25.
Electronic Bid Proposals shall be received for the following work, and as follows:
SINGLE PRIME BUILDING CONTRACT FOR ALL WORK, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, SITEWORK, HVAC, FIRE PROTECTION, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION for each respective project above; and the combination of all three capital projects listed above.
Bids for the above will be received by 2 PM on March 11, 2025 on PennBid.
Non-mandatory pre-bid meetings will be held for each respective project on February 25, 2025: 1. 10:00 AM at 126 Wallace Avenue, Downingtown, PA. 2. 11:30 AM at 260 Norwood Road, Downingtown, PA. 3. 1:30 PM at 4 W Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA. The purpose of the meetings will be to allow interested firms to familiarize themselves with the site, the project and to ask questions regarding this bid. Additional follow-up site visits may be coordinated with the Architect following this meeting.
Complete sets of Bidding Documents will be available after February 17, 2025 via PennBid https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=openOpportunities. The selected firm is expected to be experienced in these types of projects and construction. It is expected that the qualified firm selected will have enough level of experience and staff to carry out the general contractor requirements of this project with a minimum of five (5) completed projects of this size and type. Additionally, the selected firm will be expected to execute a modified AIA Document A101 – Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor.
Bids must be submitted via PennBid https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=openOpportunities. Bids must be submitted on the proposal forms provided. Neither Downingtown Borough, nor the Architect will assume any responsibility for Bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. No bid may be with-drawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the date established for the opening of bids.
Applicable wage rates apply. Bidding shall follow all applicable requirements of the laws and statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The successful bidder is required to ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or natural origin.
