Project Description: Sealed bids will be received on PennBid's Bonfire website until 2:00 PM eastern time on February 20, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Kutztown University is seeking unit-price work order contract(s) for removal and disposal of lead-based paint material, asbestos-containing material, and other environmentally hazardous materials on campus on an as-needed basis. Work shall include all labor, superintendence, materials, tools and equipment, and performing all work necessary to complete the work. It is the intent of the University to issue unit-price (work order) contracts to multiple qualified contractors. Contract length will be one year with up to four (4) optional one-year renewals. All work will be done strictly on an as-needed basis.
In order to ensure the responsiveness of contractors, and in the best interests of the University, contractors must meet the following special requirements:
• The contractor must be located within seventy five (75) miles of Kutztown University. This shall be calculated “as the road drives”, not “as the crow flies” and determined by using MapQuest (shortest distance). Contractors located outside of the 75-mile distance will not be considered. The contractor shall provide the street address of their home/primary office. PO Boxes are not acceptable.
• The Bidder shall submit copies of their company’s Respiration Protection and Medical Surveillance programs, or a letter stating that their organization complies with all applicable regulations. Bidders must reference the exact applicable regulation(s).
• Copies of all Pennsylvania state, county, and other licenses currently held shall be submitted with the proposal. All asbestos-related work at Kutztown University shall be conducted by licensed workers, supervisors, and contractors.
• The Bidder must have a minimum of three (3) years continuous experience in environmental hazard abatement under the present organizational/corporate structure. This requirement must be clearly documented in the Contractor’s Qualification Form.
Invitation for Bids (IFB) package must be obtained from the PennBid Bonfire website.
Be sure to follow all university requirements as outlined in the IFB document. Addenda to the solicitation will also be found on the PennBid Bonfire website. Potential bidders are responsible for checking the PennBid Bonfire website for any addenda.
Authorized Document Source: Invitations for Bids, including any specifications, plans, and drawings for this solicitation must be acquired from the authorized and official Kutztown University source (PennBid Bonfire). Due to the possible inaccuracies in documents acquired from other sources, and the potential for an incomplete understanding of the scope of work, bids submitted by contractors who acquire these documents from any other source but the authorized source will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected.
