Request for Qualifications
Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Towing Services
City of Waukegan, Illinois
GENERAL INFORMATION/PUBLISHING
The City of Waukegan, Illinois, is accepting Qualification Statements (“Qualifications”) from licensed companies for the City’s Tow Service List program to provide official towing and related services within Waukegan city limits at the request of the Waukegan Police Department and other authorized City departments. Official towing services include, without limitation: vehicles involved in collisions; abandoned or disabled vehicles on roadways or rights-of-way; vehicles seized or impounded as evidence; recovered stolen vehicles; vehicles relocated during emergencies or special events; and other lawful police-requested tows or towing-related services. The company must have a proven track record of successfully providing towing services for units of local government of comparable size and complexity.
The City may select multiple companies for the Tow Service List. Inclusion on the Tow Service List does not guarantee the receipt of any minimum volume of service requests. The selected company(ies) will work directly with the Waukegan Police Department and designated City staff regarding dispatch coordination, performance, compliance, and customer service. The anticipated duration of the initial services is one (1) year, subject to annual review at the City's sole discretion, and the City may extend the relationship on an annual basis. The City may terminate this relationship at any time for any reason.
The company relationship is expected to commence following the RFQ selection process and award for the upcoming services term, with final selection subject to approval by the City Council.
