The existing Rhea B. Lawrence Recovery Center (RBLRC) includes an 8-bed mental health and substance use (detox) facility. This short-term residential program is designed to prevent hospitalizations. The proposed expansion will consist of adding an additional 5,220 sq. ft. for an expansion of eight (8) more beds, for approximately 12,540 sq. ft. building with approximately 1,248 sq. ft. of entries and porches. The facility will have a Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) area of approximately 1,000 sq. ft. and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) containing approximately 6,320 sq. ft.The existing Lisa H. Moore Counseling Center (LHMCC) is a one-stop-shop for mental health patients and provides up-to-date and progressive mental health and substance abuse services to residents of the service area. The 12,000 sq. ft. facility provides office space and medical office exam rooms, a pharmacy, offices, meeting, and counseling rooms. The structure includes a radius entry way with glass walls, skylights, and fireplaces, columns and doors retained from the original structure on the site. The proposed 6,108 sq. ft. expansion will include six (6) additional counseling offices, two (2) meeting rooms, and a Peer Support Center. The Peer Support Center will include a reception area, (2) peer support offices, food pantry, community room, reception area, exercise room, shower & laundry room, storage, and two (2) unisex/gender neutral toilets, one (1) staff unisex/gender neutral toilet, and building support areas to include mechanical and IT. The lower level will include 5,750 sq. ft. of unfinished space for future expansion of Mount Rogers Community Services support offices.
