Summary
The Athelas One is a new point-of-care blood monitoring device indicated by the FDA for quantitative determination of white blood cell (WBCs) counts and neutrophil percentages. It requires only one drop of capillary blood to run the test and offers a one-step processing that may allow treatment decisions to be made in real time. This machine and test strips will be used across the six Ohio Department of Mental Health hospitals and eight Department of Developmental Disabilities centers.
