The Department recently acquired a Leica Stellaris 8 confocal microscope system. To meet essential user research requirements, The Department is seeking to add the Leica FALCON module. A competitive bid exception is requested because the FALCON upgrade utilizes proprietary hardware, software, and detector integration designed exclusively for the STELLARIS platform. Upgrades or equipment from third-party vendors are technically incompatible and cannot interface with our existing system.
