The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement for a Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) located at the USCG Shipyard “Yard”, Baltimore, MD. This UESC project at the USCG Yard Baltimore will recapitalize aging utility infrastructure, decrease local outages, update building equipment to reduce operating expenses, increase the on-site energy generation capacity, and add onsite energy storage at the USCG Yard. This contract will modernize building equipment, install onsite energy storage systems, and enhance landfill gas generation capabilities, avoiding over $200M in energy costs over the contract life. The improvements will re-establish America's industrial base and maritime dominance while preparing utility systems for load growth. Modernizing electrical and steam infrastructure from the 1940s will significantly improve reliability and reduce long-term maintenance costs, ensuring the Coast Guard Yard maintains its critical role in supporting Coast Guard asset readiness and mission capability across all eleven statutory missions.
