Request for Proposal for Water Line Replacement Project

San Miguel County is requesting proposals and accepting sealed bids from experienced contractors to install a new water line and abandon the existing line beginning at the Event Center Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly located east of the Fairgrounds Maintenance Shop to the point of ending at the South West Corner of the Event Center and as described in the scope of work below. Mandatory pre-bid conference:

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held by appointment with DeeAnna Burbridge (970-327-4321).   It is the responsibility of the bidder to arrange for the pre-bid conference appointment. The purpose of this pre-bid conference will be to discuss and clarify the scope of work. Deadline for this appointment is September 19, 2025.

Bidders are required to attend and participate in the pre-bid conference. Sealed bids will be opened and read by staff following the bid submission deadline. Bidders will be subsequently notified after the successful bidder has been determined.

Scope of work:

Work to be performed generally includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • To install new water line beginning at the Event Center Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly located east of the Fairgrounds Maintenance Shop to the point of ending at a frost-free hydrant located at the South West Corner of the Event Center.
  • To abandon the existing line in an appropriate and acceptable manner.
  • To determine and recommend specifications for materials.
  • To install appropriate connections to two existing frost-free hydrants and one fire hydrant repurposed for use at the steer wash rack.
  • To provide all equipment, tools, labor, and materials to complete the project.
  • To obtain all licenses and permits to complete the project.
  • Target Start Date: October 1, 2025. Target End Date: November 30, 2025. Actual start and end dates are to be determined based upon contactor and facility schedules.
