Automated Biobanking Storage System

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking Quotes for an automated biobanking storage system. The system will be used to securely store and preserve human biological specimens, including blood products, human tissues, cell lines, DNA/RNA, etc. General functions that are required include:

System

1. Secure -80°C storage
2. High density storage of 2D-barcoded tubes (sizes 0.3mL – 12mL)
3. Fully automated specimen storage and rapid retrieval
4. Modular system design, which allows for system scalability
5. Initial system size capable of storing approximately 1,000,000 specimens
6. LN2 cooling system with multiple redundancies
7. External refrigeration units that are accessible for servicing
8. Isolated samples during loading and retrieval to maintain specimen integrity
9. Post warranty service and maintenance agreement
10. 21 CFR compliant
11. Ability to install unit with an available clear height of 9’-11”

Software

1. Provide a biospecimen management software solution
2. Intuitive loading of new biospecimens
3. Ability to manage the biospecimen request workflow from request through disposition
4. Remote and walk-up capabilities for retrievals
5. Sample ready for pick up notifications for remote requests
6. Full specimen audit trail (including temperature, previous retrievals, etc.)
7. Security roles for the protection of certain biospecimens
8. Integration with Roswell Park’s LabVantage laboratory information management system (LIMS)
9. Post warranty software support and maintenance agreement (inclusive of required Bidder and 3 ^rd party software updates and upgrades)
10. 21 CFR compliant
