The Proton Improvement Plan-II (PIP-II) is Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory’s (FNAL) plan for providing powerful, high-intensity proton beams to the laboratory's research program which includes an 800 MeV superconducting linac. In support of this program, the PIP-II project requires a new cryogenic distribution system (CDS). The Warm Piping System of CDS will provide room temperature helium gas to the PIP-II accelerator as well as recover and transport cold helium gas from the accelerator following a pressure relief event. This specification provides the basis for the piping installation contract for a portion of the CDS Warm Piping System. The scope of this specification shall be limited to the CDS Warm Piping system located in the accelerator tunnel.
The piping system described in the specification will reside within the PIP-II Linac Tunnel, see attached SOW and drawing for more information.
