Title: Final Design Services for Safe Routes to School Project
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 10/15/2024
Due Date: 11/12/2024
The City of Hayward (City) Transportation Division is seeking proposals from qualified Civil Engineering Design Services Consultants to prepare project Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for the Safe Routes to School (SR2S) transportation infrastructure projects at 12 schools in the City of Hayward. The PS&E will be based on conceptual plans that the City has already developed.
The goal of the SR2S program in Hayward is to make it safer and more convenient for kids to walk and bike to school. This helps to alleviate congestion and pollution in school areas related to school pick-up and drop-off and also helps to build healthy and sustainable habits in students at an early age.
In 2024, the City was selected for a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Clean Mobility in Schools Program Grant that includes infrastructure improvements for 12 schools. The infrastructure improvements recommended at these school sites were developed during School Safety Assessments with the Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) and input from the school communities from 2016 - 2020. To implement the SR2S infrastructure improvements, the City is seeking a qualified Consultant to prepare construction documents for 30 intersections at 12 schools, listed below:
Intersections are specified in the Attachments.
