Installation of Water Meters
The R.M. of Caron No. 162 is undertaking a water meter replacement project in the Hamlet of Caron. The project goal is to reduce line loss, improve water meter efficiency, monitor water consumption, generate more accurate water billing and quickly address water breaks.
There are approximately 83 water connections in the Hamlet.
The R.M. of Caron is requesting quotes for phase one of three phases which includes:
1.
Installation of 18 units of 5/8” meters and associated tail pieces in private residences and in some small commercial buildings.
2.
Meter units will have remote read radio frequency technology.
The R.M. will supply the new meters and arrange for the disposal of the old meters.
To be considered quotes should include the following:
a)
Hourly rates for staff/trades and or a per unit installation rate.
b)
Mileage rate if applicable and details of when such would be applied.
c)
List of subcontractors and rates for such if applicable.
d)
Description of any incidental or other work that may be required for the successful completion of the project and estimated charges for such.
The project will be undertaken during the construction season from August to October 2026 to avoid inclement weather.
