Project Description: Helene Relief – Design Bid Build Bridge Replacement on Private Roads
over the Broad River at 2511 NC Hwy 9, Black Mountain, NC
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Division and the
Department of Transportation are requesting bids for design bid build bridge replacement on
private roads over the Broad River at 2511 NC Hwy 9, Black Mountain, NC in Buncombe
County to be let at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The availability date for this project is April 15, 2026.
The completion date for this project is October 15, 2026.
Because of the unusual nature of the work involved and in order for all prospective bidders
to have extensive knowledge of the project, an open, virtual Pre-Bid Conference will be held
for all interested parties on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national
origin.
