Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service (FS), Intermountain Region, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, has a need for engine repairs to a Hotshot Crew Transporter (EN# 8058), a 2017 International, 4400:IH, with VIN 1HTMKSTN5HH575810, and mileage 101,339 miles. The Logan IHC crew carrier EN 8058 has an engine oil leak. Diagnosis of the leak is difficult as it is around the air compressor system on the truck. A previous diagnosis stated that the front cover of the engine is cracked where it meets the air compressor system. The cover is split between the front and rear half. The repair calls for both the front and rear covers to be replaced along with various gaskets, oil pump housing, fluid, etc. including brand name or equal parts. The salient characteristics of these parts are that they are compatible with the vehicle.

Once repairs commence, if additional parts or labor are required to properly complete the repair, the contractor MUST first contact the Contract Specialist with a quote for these additional required repairs. The contractor SHALL NOT begin this additional work until they have received a modification to the contract which funds the additional repairs and incorporates that work into the contract. The Government SHALL NOT be responsible for any unauthorized repairs.

Please pay particular attention to the red and green highlighted sections throughout the attached combined synopsis_RFQ.
