Procedure used to solicit and award contract: This notice is in support of a contemplated Small Business Set-aside Request for Proposal (RFP).
Description:
This project is a competitive Small Business Set-aside Request for Proposal to develop the Lone Mountain Quarry for road surfacing aggregate production. Lone Mountain Quarry is located on previously undisturbed land. Work consists of rock blasting and excavating, rock crushing and stockpiling. The road surfacing aggregate produced will be placed on Forest Service roads critical to support fire suppression, international border security operations, livestock grazing, and potential mining operations in the Southern Patagonia Mountains.
The contemplated project requires the Contractor to be responsible for obtaining all permits as required by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Key performance areas:
Work Summary – Base bid items (there will be four additive bid items):
a) Clearing and grubbing of area needed for the bid aggregate quantity
b) Topsoil stripping and stockpiling of area needed for the bid aggregate quantity
c) Crush and stockpile 8,000 CY of surface course aggregate (“G” grading)
Project Location – From Tucson, AZ take Interstate 10 E 23 miles to AZ-83 S (Sonoita Mountain View Highway) towards Sonoita/Patagonia. Travel south for 53 miles. Turn left onto W Coronado Trail proceed for 5.3 miles. Turn right onto W Lochiel Road for 0.1 mile then slight left onto Lone Mountain Ranch Road proceed 0.1 miles. Turn right onto NFSR 4768 and travel south for 0.6 miles, entrance to the newly constructed quarry access road is on the west side of the road. The coordinates of the intersection of NFSR 4768 and the quarry access road is Latitude: 31.368855° Longitude: -110.401489°.
