RE: ADDENDUM #1, BID NO. 20260617, REPLACEMENT OF CONCRETE SKATE PAD
Bidders are hereby notified that this Addendum shall be made a part of the documents. The intent is to add to, modify, or clarify
the documents. Should any of these items have an effect on price, such changes shall be included in the price bid. These items
have the same force and effect as if contained in the original.
ITEM 1: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q1: The bid package identifies approximately 10,585 SF of concrete, based on the aerial provided on page 33 of the bid package.
The current aerial appears to show approximately 13,200 SF. Please confirm the amount of concrete to be removed and replaced
and provide an updated marked-up aerial or plan. Specifically, is the newer northeast portion of the pad included or to remain?
A1: The newer northeast portion of the pad is to remain. The approximately 10,585 SF identified in the bid package does
not include that area.
Q2: For areas where existing concrete will remain, please provide the required sawcut/tie-in detail, including whether dowels or an
isolation/expansion joint are required. Is any information available regarding the existing slab thickness and reinforcement?
A2: The new slab shall be doweled into the existing slab every 2.5 feet. No expansion joints are required.
Q3: The specifications require a 1% slope in one direction. Please provide the required drainage direction, finished
elevations/benchmark, and tie-in elevations to the existing concrete.
A3: Everything shall slope north toward the drain located between the skate park pad and the sidewalk along Carmalita
Street. Finished elevations/benchmarks and tie-in elevations are not available.
Q4: Since removal and reinstallation of the skate equipment is by others, please clarify who is responsible for existing/new
anchors, embeds, templates, drilling/epoxy, and any concrete work associated with reinstalling the equipment.
A4: The skate park equipment company is responsible for the removal and installation of the existing and new skate
equipment. The skate park equipment company shall be responsible for repairing any damage to the new concrete pad
resulting from their work.
Q5: The specifications state that a small portion of the park will remain active during construction. Please identify which area will
remain open and clarify any temporary fencing, barricades, or pedestrian separation the Contractor will be responsible for
providing.
A5: The sand volleyball courts will remain open during construction. Orange snow fencing shall be installed and
maintained throughout the construction process to keep patrons out of the work area. Appropriate signage shall also be
provided to clearly indicate areas of construction and closures.

Bidders are hereby notified that this addendum shall be made a part of the above-named proposal and contract documents.
The following is issued to modify, and/or clarify the proposal and contract documents. These items shall have the same force and
effect as the original bid and contract documents, and bids to be submitted on the specified date shall conform with the additions,
deletions and revisions as listed herein.
This addendum is binding and is to be considered as if contained within the original bid documents of Bid No. 20260617. Bidders
are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms.
