1. This SOR is only open to the consultants below which were awarded under 24-2004:

•        Hardline Engineering Ltd.
2. The City of Calgary is seeking an engineering consultancy to conduct a feasibility study on implementing regenerative braking in its existing Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. The study will assess whether the existing infrastructure, including the overhead catenary system (OCS), substations, and power distribution network, can support regenerative braking and identify required upgrades. It will also evaluate energy storage options, analyse potential energy savings, estimate infrastructure investment needs, and project return on investment across various operating scenarios.
3. This procurement process is not intended to create, and, will not create, a formal, legally binding bidding process. It will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
4. This estimated project completion date is June 12, 2026.
