Project Description: INVITATION TO BIDDERS
Bid proposals will be received by the Robesonia Borough Council until 12 pm, prevailing time, Monday May 5, 2025 via PennBID only (https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com) for the following scope of work:
Robesonia Borough Freeman Street Bridge Repair Project – repair of existing scour and undermining of both bridge abutments and installation of concrete curtain walls along both abutments – consisting of approximately 32 CY of Class 3 Excavation, 9 CY of R-3 Rock, 21 CY of R-6 Rock, 23 CY of Class A Cement Concrete, 445 LBs of Reinforcement Bars, 46 Dowel Holes – 12” Depth & Epoxy Anchors, 37 SY of Geotextile, Erosion & Sediment Controls, Incidental Restoration Activities as specified in the Bid Documents
Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Robesonia Borough Hall, 75 S. Brooke St., Robesonia, PA 19551. The contract will be awarded or rejected during the Robesonia Borough Council meeting held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Robesonia Borough Hall at the above-referenced address.
Contract documents are available through the PennBID system; Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Borough and available on PennBID.
All work must be completed by September 15, 2025. Liquidated damages apply at a rate of $500.00 per calendar day.
Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this Contract.
A certified check or bank draft, payable to Robesonia Borough or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with the bid. In addition, the following documents must be included with the bid package: proof of PennDOT prequalification, workman’s compensation affidavit, insurance certificate – evidence of coverage, CDL compliance certificate, public works verification form and anti-collusion affidavit.
A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract price as well as the payment bond and the insurance certificate with certificate holder and additional insureds named shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after contract is awarded.
Robesonia Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted or any part thereof or item therein that may not be in the public’s best interest. The Borough also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities or informalities in bids received.
