Jefferson Memorial Forest Drum Site Environmental Site Remediation

Project Description: The project is located in Fairdale, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and involves the remediation of impacted environmental media, including soils and waste materials, at the site. The contamination is the result of historic illegal dumping activities that occurred on the property. Previous site investigations have identified the presence of several contaminants within the environmental media, including Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), and certain inorganic constituents. The affected area is currently characterized by dense tree cover. Remediation activities will consist of the excavation and removal of impacted materials for off-site disposal at approved facilities. Excavation will be conducted to varying depths, as defined in the project specifications. Upon completion of excavation, disturbed areas will be backfilled and restored to original grade contours, followed by re-vegetation to stabilize the site.
