REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
Gunlock Bike Park Improvements Project

The City of Marietta, Ohio (“City”) hereby gives public notice that it is soliciting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from qualified and experienced contractors to provide construction services for improvements at Gunlock Bike Park, a City-owned facility located in Marietta, Ohio.

Project Description

Gunlock Bike Park is a 20-acre, family-friendly bike park featuring a paved pump track, jump lines, skills areas, and mountain bike–optimized natural surface trails. The City seeks proposals for the refurbishment and enhancement of existing park features, including but not limited to repaving and reconfiguring the paved pump track, rebuilding or refreshing jump lines, installing manufactured jump and skills features, trail armoring, grading, and associated site work. The goal of the project is to improve safety, flow, sustainability, and long-term maintenance while delivering a destination-quality riding experience.

Scope of Services

Work under this RFP may include, but is not limited to:
• Repaving and regrading of the existing paved pump track and construction of a new connecting berm;
• Refresh and/or rebuild of beginner, intermediate, and advanced jump lines;
• Installation of manufactured jump and skills features;
• Trail construction, grading, compaction, and armoring;
• Drainage improvements and erosion and sediment control measures;
• Coordination with City of Marietta staff and the River Valley Mountain Bike Association (RVMBA);
• Compliance with all applicable environmental, permitting, and prevailing wage requirements.

Proposals must be received by 3:00 p.m. (EST) on February 16, 2026.

Additional Information

The City will evaluate proposals in accordance with criteria set forth in the RFP, including relevant experience, technical approach, understanding of local conditions, community engagement strategy, and cost effectiveness. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities, and accept the proposal deemed in the best interest of the City.
